Parris Campbell’s opportunity with an elite QB on a pass-heavy offense is one that can lead to him leading all rookie WRs in targets, and possibly even being second on the Colts behind TY Hilton in targets in 2019.

The Colts have a clear void at WR outside of Hilton and Funchess, and Campbell will have an opportunity to compete where he excelled in college – in the slot. Frank Reich also stated that he won’t be limited to the slot, so there is some versatility they like in him as well. He has serious speed, and his forte is getting yards after the catch.

Deon Cain is an intriguing WR prospect who lost his 2018 rookie year to an ACL injury. 2019 will essentially be his rookie year, so with him rehabbing all offseason without necessarily improving, it might be a tough proposition to project him over Campbell and Funchess at this point… especially since he will likely start later and slower than the rest of his competition.

This is definitely a situation worth monitoring, but if Campbell does get the first crack at starting in the slot with Andrew Luck, I will be aiming for him in PPR drafts – hopefully as a value. Just as a note – coming into 2018, Luck was 5th in attempts to slot WRs since 2007, and targeted slot WRs on 23.6% of his attempts.

We can love players, but we also have to love their ADPs. Unless the hype train goes completely off the rails, my guess his price will be reasonable.
