Did David Montgomery help you win a 🏆?
As soon as Bill Lazor took over playcalling duties, David Montgomery was unlocked.
He also had amazing matchups for that final stretch.
Tarik Cohen’s injury also created a bell cow out of Montgomery. If Cohen is back healthy, it’s very possible Cohen goes back to his role as the primary pass-catching back, removing Montgomery’s floor. Montgomery was 14th of 17th in terms of yards per route run this season among qualifying RBs (min 50 targets), but keep in mind that he ran the most routes of any RB in the league.
Are you willing to take him at the 2-3 turn if that’s where his ADP ends up?
If you are, you might be on to something.
Montgomery was the 3rd most elusive back, according to PFF among all RBs with at least 175 carries in 2020, only behind Nick Chubb and Derrick Henry. His 54 avoided tackles in the run game was 4th behind Henry, Dalvin Cook, and Chubb. His 18 avoided tackles in the pass game tied with Kareem Hunt and was only 2 shy of Alvin Kamara’s league-leading 20.
