Jets players should be on the map for fantasy in 2021

The Jets’ offense is now a Shanahan-themed offense.

New Jets OC Mike LaFleur is as familiar with anyone of Kyle Shanahan’s offense, but focused mainly on the passing offense over the past four season as Shanahan’s passing game coordinator.

They also brought in John Benton, who was the OL coach for Shanahan over the past four seasons. Not only that, but he was the OL coach for the Texans under Gary Kubiak for 8 seasons. The Kubiak and Shanahan offenses were essentially built together, so Benton has a ton of familiarity with this run scheme that has been very effective over the years.

There have been several no-name RBs becoming household names thanks to this scheme, so don’t ignore the Jets RBs in 2021, whoever they are.

The passing offense will be creative, with a lot of sweeps, misdirections, and scheming WRs open. The #1 WR was consistently getting their targets this season, regardless of who it was (Deebo, Aiyuk, even Richie James), and regardless of who the QB was. If the Jets don’t make a splash in free agency at the WR position, look for Denzel Mims to work into that #1 WR role.

There were several other major offensive coaching hires in the NFL recently, so @fantasy.football.analyst and I went over them in today’s new podcast to give an idea of what to potentially look for in their respective offenses.
