Week 1 of Preseason wasn’t so encouraging for Michael Carter after sharing first team snaps with Ty Johnson.
Week 2 of Preseason was even less encouraging with Tevin Coleman getting the start with the first team, and sharing those reps almost equally with Ty Johnson.
Michael Carter didn’t get in the game until the starters were off the field.
Carter’s role can obviously grow as the season progresses, but we have to remember that he doesn’t necessarily have workhorse size to go with the talent.
I’ll be passing on Carter in drafts this week at his inflated price, and will be taking late round shots on Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson, who seem to both also be currently preferred in receiving roles as well.
Coming into preseason, the hope was that Carter can get some early down work and be THE guy in the receiving game, but he looks to be the third back in the pecking order for now.
