Aidan O'Connell in Consideration to Start vs Browns in Week 3

One week after Gardner Minshew led the team to victory over the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium, the same Minshew-quarterbacked team got absolutely dogwalked by the Andy Dalton-led Panthers on their home turf. That was apparently enough of an offense to HC Antonio Pierce to shake the foundation of Minshew’s status as the team’s starter heading into Week 4, and all indications seem to point to the team’s starter currently being undecided ahead of their game against the Browns this upcoming weekend. Through three games, Minshew has thrown for as many touchdowns as he has interceptions (3) while posting a mediocre 13.56 fantasy points per game – good for the overall QB20 on the season. More notable, however, has been the up-and-down production of WR Davante Adams (10.9, 26.0, and 8.0 PPR points in three starts this season) and TE Brock Bowers (11.8, 18.8, 7.1 PPR points from Weeks 1-3 this year). While it’s unlikely that Aidan O’Connell will provide the spark that Pierce is looking for in his offense, a change under center seems to be in the cards this week and could complicate the target distribution moving forward. The anticipation has been that Minshew and O’Connell could trade blows all season long since the Raiders were unable to draft a top signal-caller back in April, and Vegas could be relegated to fantasy purgatory as a result of a lack of continuity under center.
