With Richardson ready to return to action, the glorious air raid ride we’ve been on these past couple of weeks with Joe Flacco starting is set to come to a close. With the second-year QB under center, the Colts have been reluctant to throw the ball at a high rate despite having excellent weapons on the perimeter in Pittman, Downs, and co. Speaking of Pittman and Downs, both players missed practice to open the week this week. Normally, this would be a bad sign for their availability this weekend – however, this is likely load management after both pass catchers played through their injuries last weekend and each found the end zone against the Jaguars in Week 6. Indy’s passing game has its work cut out for itself this week against the Dolphins, though, as the Dolphins are allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to quarterbacks through six weeks. Despite the downgrade at quarterback in terms of overall passing volume, Downs should remain in lineups as a low-WR2/high-WR3, while Pittman could make sense as a flex target with WR3 upside. The ceiling for the Colts offense is lowered at this point by Richardson’s return, but the hope is he can improve his play this season to command a consistently relevant fantasy team.
