Minnesota checks in as Hunt’s third destination in the past week, with perhaps the most obvious role being available there of any of the teams he’s visited so far. In New Orleans, Hunt would be nothing but a rotational back; in Indianapolis, he might be able to compete with Jonathan Taylor for a pass-catching role; but in Minnesota, there’s a chance Hunt could become the RB1B to Alexander Mattison’s RB1A.
A signing by Hunt with the Vikings would certainly shake up the backfield, but the Vikings are still going to be a pass-first offense. Any value Hunt would hypothetically provide if he signed in Minnesota would come in the passing game – but there’s no guarantee that he’d be able to establish himself a role to challenge Mattison on a consistent basis.
