Despite making a miraculous comeback in a very short time frame and even starting in a preseason game, this is the best move for Williams’ long term health and is not the end of the world for his season long prospects. The Broncos brought in Samaje Perine for this very reason, as he’ll allow Denver to slow roll Williams’ return. Both could have low-end flex value this week against the Raiders, but don’t expect much in the way of a high ceiling for either back as a result of this report.
