The Athletic's Daniel Popper has said it will be Joshua Palmer, not 1st round rookie Quentin Johnston, opening the season as the Chargers' WR3.
And with that, the book is officially closed on Quentin Johnston’s chances to have an immediate impact in Los Angeles. It seems like the Chargers have given him every opportunity to take the job from Palmer, but Johnston has struggled throughout the preseason with drops and now assumes the WR4 role in the Chargers offense. While it would be foolish to assume that Johnston can’t improve during the regular season and ascend the depth chart, his utility to fantasy managers will remain low until he begins to see an acceptable snap share for fantasy football.
