Pat Freiermuth Suffers Hamstring Set-Back, Out Week 7 & Placed on IR

Freiermuth reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury this week, which has added a few weeks to his projected return timeline. An unfortunate break for Friermuth and his managers, but with the tight end position fully streamable outside the top four or five options, replacing him shouldn’t be an issue. The TE carousel just keeps on turning. Even if Freiermuth were ready to go on Sunday, he’d be re-entering an offense that’s also getting back its top target earner in Diontae Johnson against a Rams defense that’s been stingy against the pass. The target shares are likely to be all mixed up in this game regardless, and Freiermuth’s absence should allow Johnson and George Pickens to establish their roles in the offense prior to his return. Freiermuth is droppable.
